We hired Buckenmeyer Architecture to solve some some floor plan flaws in our house. It is an understatement to say that our original kitchen was wretched in every way - old appliances, old and uneven cupboards, and an awkward arrangement that included the refrigerator located in the pantry. As porches were enclosed and added to the house, the back door had moved to the side of the house, which prevented us from easily using our back yard. We hired Marty Buckenmeyer to create a functional kitchen out of our small space and at the same time rearrange the back of our house to provide us with a real back door into our yard.
Marty Buckenmeyer did a fantastic job. At our original meeting he took notes and measurements on our existing house. He listened to everything we wanted to accomplish. A week later he had created a scale model of our original house and three possibilities for our remodel. All three would accomplish our goals in different ways.
After we picked one design, Marty then helped us to develop our plans down to the finishes. When we hired a contractor we were able to hand him a very detailed plan for what we wanted. The level of detail made the process of hiring a contractor and working with him as he constructed our new kitchen as smooth as it could possibly be.
Marty was very professional and easy to work with, but we most appreciate the design he produced for our kitchen. On top of planning a functional and beautiful kitchen for us, including a wonderful back door, he moved the doors into the kitchen and added some new windows to the back of our house. Those changes have dramatically improved the appearance and the flow of our house and have added wonderful light to every one of the rooms there.
